- I mean you expect shoes or anything you purchase online to get it within like a week but with them they make all their shoes to order custom order so you don't get your shoes right away and I know this is probably frightening to some people but it actually takes over I want to say four to six weeks to get your shoes so this was the first time I purchased footwear where I didn't get my shoes shipped to me right away and also this is the first time I purchased a pair of shoes where it was custom made made to order so basically when I made the purchase it explains like that it won't be sent to you right away it actually tells you like when the ship date is the expected ship date because they do their orders in batches the reason why the buying experience is so different with Beckett Simonon is because they they encourage what do you what is it called um conscious consumerism like I couldn't say that I never say that words I'm never gonna remember it but yeah it's basically like you think about what you want to buy like you put more thought into it and you really do especially I don't know why with just that shipping time it really does like make you sit back and think about the purchase and not not that I don't want to purchase it's more like okay if I make this purchase like what am I going to wear with it um you know does it go with my wardrobe and everything checked the like everything I thought about it was like okay yeah that checks the box that checks about one because their styles are very timeless two they're built to last they use craftsmen in Colombia I think I believe it's in Bogota but everything is made to order in detail they use the finest leather for shoes so yeah from a buying standpoint if you're worried about the quality you won't have to worry about that and also if you know I think we're like in an era right now where you know people are becoming more conscious about waste and this definitely will help eliminate waste because you know you're purchasing something that's meant to last and like you're not just going by a trend wear it for a few months and you toss it out and you or you donate it and you go on to the next pair like these purchases that I have made uh I know that they are going to be shoes that I wear for a long time so once I made the purchase you know obviously you get an email like hey you know thank you for your order you know your batch your shoes will be in this batch order blah blah and it kind of like goes on a order and then you would think like okay that's it but no because the process is so long they don't want you to just be left in the dark uh so you know you get several emails in between where they kind of like tell you who's making your shoes what their values are where along in the process um your footwear is so like they give you multiple emails so that they so that you don't feel like oh yeah where are my shoes did I just get uh robbed like are my shoes really coming um so yeah I really appreciated that they you know even send emails about the craftsmen that are making your shoes so Candy was getting these emails and she ordered the shoes for me so I wasn't really getting them I mean she probably did send them but I just ignored it because like I get so many emails that it's hard for me to keep up with all of them so like when the shoes came because you know one pair of shoes came to her the other pair came to me when it came I was like oh I totally forgot I got these shoes but you're like it's such a nice surprise because you forgot about it and you're like oh my gosh and then when I got the package I was so impressed by it first of all this box is so gorgeous it's like it's a really well-made box I feel like doing that asmr thing where just like jump in the box like you don't want to throw this away you want to use it for storage just like oh what a nice box but so then open it and it's really like nicely laid out in the box as well inside here you know it says handcrafted products designed to last and then it gives like this mission our mission is to produce long-lasting ethically made products that bring you joy for years and may even be passed down to future generations so they make these products so that it'll you know last for a long time and that's why it takes so long for you to get because they handcraft each shoe like pair of shoes they definitely handcraft these because when you get it you get this nice note as well it's handwritten by the way it's not one of those like computer generated things these are like real people writing these notes yeah and then you know they give you like a little card about like fit and returns like the return policy inside um what they'll usually do is first of all before I get into that so it comes in these nice each shoe comes in a nice shoe bag like this and then you get insoles for each pair of shoes as well so I thought that was really great too um so yeah the packaging itself like even before you get to the shoes uh you'll really appreciate I think so because they are made to order you might be wondering like oh but maybe the returns process is going to be difficult because they're you know kind of one of a kind for you not at all they do explain with the return policy they want to make sure you're completely satisfied of course you know they say to make sure to walk around in the house so you don't get the soles dirty make sure you get comfortable and then because it's leather and leather does take a little bit of time to stretch although I will say all three pairs of shoes that I've received they fit just fine from the beginning I haven't had any issues um but if you do end up having any even after wearing it and it's still not quite the right fit um they'll you know they'll make sure you get it right and they'll you know send you another pair so they do actually make a little bit of excess in production just for those circumstances um so even though they're custom order they do make some so that they're for the people who you know for some reason didn't fit so you don't really have to worry about that if that's one thing you're concerned about with custom orders all right so now we're getting to the fun part and we're going to talk about the shoes that we got so I'm going to go first and I'm going to go with the pair that I've worn the most often so far I don't know if you can see this my little my little shoe rack I really like the reed sneakers I know they're just like a simple white pair of sneakers but that's what I need in my wardrobe I want like a nice pair of everyday sneakers that'll go with casual outfits and I ordered a size eight and they fit me perfect I'm in between a size seven and a half and eight and most of the times I wear seven and a half but with leather stuff I don't know why I like to order eight um so all of my shoes I ordered in an eight and um what I like about the shoes is the laces I notice that the laces are very sturdy they don't feel cheap and also obviously the as well is very nice and um there was no break in period as soon as I wore these I went around like at first what I first actually usually always do is I'll walk a mile with my dogs and if they are comfortable then then I'm comfortable wearing them for hours like if we're going on a trip somewhere and these were fine when I went on the walk so then I took them with me to San Diego and some other trips and yeah these are a great staple to have in your style they kind of like pretty much go with everything and they're really comfortable all right so I got these boots uh I have to look up what they're called Praga I think it's like Prada like Praga Praga boots they come in three different shades but I got the black ones I've actually been looking for a good pair of Laysa boots um but I couldn't quite find the one that I was satisfied with I've got some before that I ordered and had to sell them later because they just weren't comfortable or they slip too much so this time with Becca at seminar I was like okay well I'll try them and see if this time if I can finally get my Laysa boots that I like and sure enough these boots are wonderful it's full like it's uh what do they call it full grain leather full grain leather which I had to look up what that was I'm like what the heck does full grain leather mean so what full grain leather is it's just the highest quality leather that you can find out there so I didn't even know that that was a thing um but yeah you can kind of tell it's like very it's like softer than like other leather products that I've gotten before I like the soles of the shoes too because it has a lot of traction yeah good traction on it there's a little bit of like a cool chunky heel on the back which I like uh another thing that I like too is that it's a zipper on the side I'm very lazy when it comes to putting on shoes so I like the fact that I could just unzip this and just slip them on and then just zip it back up and I'm good to go so I wore these for the first time actually in San Diego for hours and they're very comfortable like usually you know you would be advised to break them in which Candy was a little bit concerned she's like I don't know if I walk around on those for like four hours straight but they're actually really fine they're very comfortable um you know I think because they use the highest quality leather that helped out and not having to adjust too much to them uh this size I think I got a size 10 I believe I'm a size nine and a half usually but most shoe companies nowadays they don't make a nine and a half they always go nine or ten so that's why I go ten which worked out perfectly because I need that extra room for my socks what I really like about these like they're like combat boots but like elegant combat boots like it's like a good combination of like casual cool but still very feminine so the first pair I actually ordered were the Sienna loafers and the reason why I went with these is because I wanted a pair of loafers for my wardrobe I actually for the longest time I didn't want to wear loafers because in high school I went to um school in Japan and I had to wear uniform and we had to wear I mean we could wear sneakers but most of the time you know we wore loafers with our uniform and I was just so done with loafers after high school because I had to wear them like for years um but you know since like I feel like the loafers kind of came back in style although they've always been in style I would say um but then I was like okay I think I'm ready to go back to loafers and I was like if I'm going to go back to it I want a really nice one and I always get black but this time I'm like okay this is gonna be really nice leather so I'm gonna go with a different color so this color is the cute name toffee the toffee color but they come in other colors the only thing about these is that it was a little bit slippery on the bottom on the sole so I actually put my own like non non-slip like sticker on it and you can buy these for like I think I bought it for like a dollar um or two dollars or something but I that's the only I did with these I stuck those in the bottom um but other than that like the fit from the get-go was fantastic I ordered a size eight and they didn't hurt they're very comfortable super elegant definitely something that I'm gonna have in my wardrobe for a long time I mean that's why I decided to go with these because I knew they weren't going to go out of style also there is a little bit of height to it so um you know if you want a little bit of a boost in your height you'll get that with these and yeah I've walked around in these they're super comfortable and I really like how soft the leather is and it doesn't it doesn't look cheap it really looks like really fine quality leather okay so because I liked the Sienna loafers so much I was like okay now I want to go with another pair of loafers and I got the Georgia loafers but these are a little bit more I want to say uh funky um because they are chunky that okay I did not mean to rhyme like that like chunky monkey yeah chunky monkey but again like I was a little bit hesitant like should I go with black but then I'm like oh I wore black in high school like I don't want black anymore so I went with this color and I will say online it looked like it was uh off white but it's more of like this light tan grayish color I wore these around when we went to Japan in Shibuya totally fine comfortable and you know what I also noticed like sometimes when I buy shoes and I'm walking around and like um it kind of scuffs the side but you know what this doesn't do it at all you know how like the black usually get black scuffs on the side of the leather or the shoe like walking around Tokyo like that didn't actually happen to these so I don't know if that's what happens when you have really nice quality shoes but I was surprised that there were no scuffs around it and um also what I I wanted chunky loafers because I love wearing um short socks like with them and when we were in Japan we bought these short socks that were tights material it was so cute I love the style so that's what I wore with these chunky loafers again another uh great piece to have in your wardrobe a great classic and yeah I'm sure I'll have this we'll be wearing this for years to come I just want to talk a little bit about their company in general Candy mentioned a little bit earlier but they do take care of their employees they really think about their work environment I really like the fact that they hire artisans with some kind of disabilities or they actively you know hire them so I really like that aspect of the companies like that I have like such high respect for companies that do that like someday if I have a company I would love to do that too they pay a living wages they get health insurance um I feel like they get way better working environments for more than most Americans in the U.S. to be honest um they are be uh be core certified so if you're not familiar with that that's like a industry standard where they meet the highest standards as far as um how they treat their employees and also trying to be more environmentally friendly um so yeah so they go above and beyond to meet you know expectations all around so they're a great company you know behind the scenes and then a great company with all their like high quality products so we really
